    You will help to create 2D characters, environments, & FX, with an emphasis on the technical side, for what will prove to be an incredibly fun new eSports title. You will enjoy a creative and hands-on opportunity to shape the project's visual look and play while working with other talented Artists, Designers and Engineers in a fun and dynamic team. We value learning and developing and sharing best practices.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work with the Artists and Designers to create the look and motion of the game
    • Create concept for Characters, Environments, & FX with an emphasis on the technical side (how to create assets, and how to implement into Unity)
    • Research technical aspects of art implementations (FX, Shaders, Scripts, etc.)
    • Create final in-game assets & implement into Unity
    • Create internal tools/prefabs/settings that optimize the game's visual and polish
    • Create modular assets that can be re-purposed with ease
    • Help to establish the pipeline and technical standards for the art
    • Support the creation of promotional materials
    • Work with the Lead Producer in establishing timelines and tasks
    • Display excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively share their visual direction for the characters and how their motion complements the gameplay
    • Effectively manage your time, meet deadlines, and work within technical budgets, while achieving the highest visual quality possible

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 3 - 5 years’ experience in art, with at least 3 years work with 2D art
    • Mobile game development experience is preferred
    • Have shipped at least one AAA product
    • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Unity, etc.
    • Diploma in art/related field, or equivalent experience
    • Foundational background in traditional arts

    What we are looking for:

    • Strong sense of aesthetics and understanding of appeal
    • Good knowledge in 2D technical art (such as creating & implementing 2D FX in Unity)
    • Experience and good understanding of FX animation (both traditional and particles)
    • Ability to adapt to various styles, themes, & subject matter
    • Good sense of camera composition/framing in 2D gameplay context
    • Good sense of action and impact in animation/gameplay context

    What Would Be Cool:

    • Understanding and Experience in 2D animation
    • Experience in Mesh & Skeletal based Animation for asset manipulation/animation (Experience in Spine, a great plus)
    • Experience/Knowledge in 3D modeling/rigging/animation (either/or)
    • Interest in competitive games
    • A breadth of knowledge regarding games/games industry
